10 Movies and a Deserted Island
If you needed to spend the rest of your life on a deserted island and could only bring 10 movies with you to watch, what would you bring? More importantly, WHY are you picking those movies? Regardless of what critics and others in our lives think, we are often fans of a movie because of the memory it evokes of a time, place or person. Life experiences and our relationships with others develop our love of certain films despite how others feel about their cinematic merit.
Presenter, Roberta Maher, will ask the audience to create their own list as she discusses some of the more important movies (ranging from 1939 to present day) in her life and the experiences that each of those films evoke for her. Audience members will have the opportunity to compile their own list and add to the discussion.
Whether you are interested in designing your own list or would like to learn a little more about unknown films or long-time favorites, please come to the New Providence United Methodist Church at 1441 Springfield Ave (908-464-5535) on Tuesday, Oct. 15th at 7:00 pm for an evening of film watching and relaxed conversation. Refreshments will be served.
